John Foster - General Manager/Head Golf Professional

John has been at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame since 2002. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, John was a teaching professional at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend for two years. John comes to the golf business with a solid background in business management and customer service, having been the Director of Sales and Marketing of the Biotechnology Division at Bayer, USA for twelve years. The goal of John and his staff is to provide the students, faculty, staff, golf teams and guests of the University the finest golf experience possible.

He is a graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor's degree in Biology.

John lives in Granger, IN.

Ryan Gowen, PGA - Assistant Golf Professional

Ryan has been at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame since 2006. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Ryan was the second assistant professional at the Polo Club Boca Raton in Boca Raton, Florida. Ryan comes to the Warren Golf Course with a background in member-oriented programs and services having assisted in the development and mangement of such programs at the Polo Club Boca Raton. Ryan also served as an assistant professional at the Candelstone Inn Golf & Resort in Belding, MI and assisted with corporate merchandising distribution for the 35th Ryder Cup in Bloomfield Hills, MI in 2004.

He is a graduate of Ferris State University's Professional Golf Management Program with a bachelor's degree in Marketing.

Ryan lives in Buchanan, MI.

Cody Risedorph, PGA - Assistant Golf Professional

Cody has been at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame since 2006. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Cody served as a golf professional at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, AZ. Cody comes to the Warren Golf Course with a background in day-to-day operations having helped administer daily administration of sales and merchandise, managing tee times and coordinating tournaments. Cody has also held positions at the Eagle-Vail Golf Club in Avon, CO and at the Coldwater Country Club in Coldwater, MI.

He is a graduate of Ferris State University's Professional Golf Management Program with a bachelor's degree in Marketing.

Cody lives in Mishawaka, IN.

Matt Cielen, GCSAA - Superintendent

Matt has been at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame since 2004. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Matt was the First Assistant Superintendent at Point O'Woods Country Club in Benton Harbor, MI and was a field consultant for ArborComm Technologies in Shelbourne, Ont. Matt comes to the Warren Golf Course with a solid background in the golf course business, having been an Assistant Superintendent at Arbor Hills Country Club in Jackson, MI. He has also worked at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, NV and Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY.

He is a graduate of Michigan State University 's Turf Grass Management Program.

Matt lives in South Bend , IN.

Sue Mansfield - Pro Shop Manager

Sue has been at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame since the Pro Shop opened in 1999. Prior to coming to the Warren Golf Course, Sue was the Pro Shop Manager at the Notre Dame Golf Course for nine years. Sue's area of responsibility includes buying men's and women's apparel as well as all golf accessories. She also manages the satellite pro shop at the Joyce Center during Notre Dame Football home game weekends. She is a member of the Association of Golf Merchandisers.

She attended Southwest Michigan College in Dowagiac, MI.

Sue and her husband, Bill have two daughters and two grandchildren and live in Niles, MI.

Lana Taylor - Coordinator of Golf Services

Lana has been at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame since 2003. Prior to coming to the Warren Golf Course, Lana was a bookkeeper for the Varsity Sports Program in the Department of Athletics for four years. Lana comes to the golf business with a solid background in University accounting, having worked in the University's Controller's Office for two years before moving on to the Department of Athletics.

She is a graduate of Indiana University South Bend with a bachelor's degree in Management and Human Resources.

Lana lives in Niles, MI.
